First Notes Policies

Tuition Policy

Tuition must be paid in advance of all activities and is non-refundable for any reason other than documented long-term illness or injury.  Tuition is not refundable due to a student’s cancellation, absence, or withdrawal from an activity for any reason.  Tuition is non-transferrable except where noted on the enrollment form.  Please review potential schedule conflicts before scheduling enrolling.

Tuition Payments

MTC does not accept credit card payments in the school, by email, or by telephone to protect our students from verbal, visual, or physical disclosure of their credit cards. Credit card payments may be made only via MTC’s SSL-secured online payment portal.  The payment portal is connected securely via SSL to the PCI-DSS compliant Authorize.net credit card gateway.  Students may also pay by check or money order.  Cash is not accepted.

Conduct

Respectful and courteous conduct is required at all times of students, parents, and their guests. Any use of profanity, verbally abusive communication, inappropriate physical contact, aggressive or threatening behavior, damage to MTC’s facility or equipment, or conduct which could be upsetting to others may result in dismissal from the school without refund of tuition.

Making up missed classes

If you miss a class, please call us to reschedule into a different class. You may schedule a makeup into any class that is not filled to capacity.  Availability of makeup classes is not guaranteed and there is no credit or refund for missed classes that are not made up. Missed classes do not carry over into the next season.

Classes cancelled by the school

You may attend any other class in the same season as a makeup.  As school cancellations are infrequent and makeup classes are available, monetary credit will be provided only after two or more classes are cancelled in a season and makeup classes are not offered.

Photography, video, and audio recordings of students

School staff may photograph or make video recordings of group activities which we may publish in brochures, posters, in-school displays, our website, and on our social networking websites. As a condition of enrollment, you grant us the right to utilize photos and video of student performances and group activities. Student’s names will not be identified without permission from the student’s parent. Exclusion of a student’s photos or recordings may be requested in writing addressed to the school’s email address. We will make best efforts to comply with exclusion requests when possible, however exclusion requests may not be granted with regards to group photos or videos that include other students or staff.

Classes, rehearsals, performances, and events taking place within MTC’s theaters may be recorded via closed circuit webcam for quality assurance and training purposes. These videos are not published.
